On Wednesday, July 24, we held the first workshop of the DigiTrans project. Launched in collaboration with Dortmunder U, Center for Arts and Creativity in Dortmund, Germany, this one year project explores new digital literacies for the cultural sector. The programme is funded by the Beisheim Stiftung.
DigiTrans explores four themes: rethinking leadership, rethinking teams, rethinking success and rethinking collaboration. We’re interested in the small steps that can have a big impact in the way people conceive and develop projects in the cultural sector. …
We’ve launched a new project — DigiTrans — in collaboration with Dortmunder U, Center for Arts and Creativity in Dortmund, Germany. This six-month digital transformation project will explore new digital literacies for the cultural sector. This programme is funded by the Beisheim Stiftung.
DigiTrans is supported by a dynamic, cross-departmental group at the Dortmunder U led by Jasmin Vogel. Over the coming months, we will invite multidisciplinary experts in the fields of digitalisation, cultural engagement, curatorial practice and accessibility to contribute to the programme.

I’ve just returned from Spain after a planning meeting with our Culture Lab partners Azkuna Zentroa in Bilbao, a UNESCO City of Design. The Culture Lab is a unique program for artists, musicians, performers, writers, makers and designers to find meaningful ways to use digital technologies in their projects as well as create new connections with audiences globally.

I am thrilled to announce our Culture Lab in collaboration with Azkuna Zentroa in Bilbao, Spain. This is a new programme for artists, musicians, performers, writers, makers and designers to find meaningful ways to use digital technologies in their projects as well as make new connections with audiences globally.
The Bilbao edition of the Lab is open to individual artists and collectives working around the Basque Country context. We will engage 30 participants in a 2-day laboratory and then offer an online residency to 10. This six month project also includes a symposium and a conference in November.
We’re delighted to launch the 2019 Swedish Digital Identities Programme. This is the fifth edition of the programme, which supports cultural organisations to experiment with storytelling and develop new approaches to audience engagement and participation.
I use the word edition as the programme has evolved over the years in response to our participants’ needs. Furthermore, the changes our societies face are very different from just a few years ago. People are influenced by new ideas and trends. They’re engaging in new behaviours. We label people as visitors, audiences, curators, educators, marketeers — which creates an illusion that we’re one step removed from this change. But that’s not the case.
